So it has officially been 7 months and 15 days since I started working here at Pure Vision and I still periodically pinch myself to see if it’s all a crazy dream or if this is actually my job. What real job anywhere on earth possibly includes daily foosball games, moustache photoshoots, foam jet rocket fights at any given moment and movies at lunchtime? SERIOUSLY! I constantly have to defend the fact that my job exists to my family and friends. It’s like I have an imaginary friend or something, one that’s really ultra-cool, and hip happening.
I swear this place was made specifically for people like me. Pure Vision is a place for those that know how to work hard and get things done, but like to balance hard work with a little bit of awesome. I couldn’t have asked for a better working environment. I feel extremely lucky to work here.
The Boss Man and Boss Lady rock my socks (yes, they’re the source of my income, but no, they didn’t pay me to write this) and I feel like I could talk to them about anything. Like Brangelina and their 17 children. Or how Katy Perry was banned from Sesame Street. Or serious / sentimental stuff if I felt inclined to do so.
The web programmers here are men of few words but when they say something it tends to make me hysterically cry-laugh and spray milk out of my nose (if I were drinking milk). They also know how to write things in binary. This alone is enough to paint a picture of their ultimate technological savvy.
My fellow graphic designers bring out the best in me creatively. They push me to be the best I can be. We brainstorm together to create good ideas, and with collaboration we turn them into great ideas. We send each other links that are creatively stimulating and constantly share our personal sources of inspiration. Some of these may or may not involve cats and/or Harry Potter.
The work itself is varied and tests my ability to be stylistically flexible. Since starting here, I’ve designed my first website, created some strong brands and have met a great group of clients that I love doing work for. There’s nothing better than getting positive feedback. It’s what makes this job worth it!
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with the opportunity to be a part of the Pure Vision team. We even have matching T-SHIRTS! So here’s a big shout out to my fellow purevisionites. I LOVE YOU GUYS!
(Insert extremely cheesy AWWWWWWW noise here).
PS. That picture above? Yeah, that’s the awesome foam rocket action I’m talking about. I was battling the other Nicole for the rights to the “Nicole” name and SHE won. Hence why I am now known as Nic! Which seems way more bad a** in my opinion 🙂
