We’re Playing Games to Heal Kids with Extra Life

This year, the KEENers at KEEN will be playing games for Extra Life in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital. The event takes place on Saturday, November 5th and we will be streaming live footage for the full 24 hour marathon.

The “secret” KEEN Gamers Club participates in gaming sessions every few months to share our passion and joy of games. This year we’ve decided to take an extra step and spend a full day and night together doing what we love while raising awareness and funds.

What is Extra Life?

Extra Life is a 24-hour gaming marathon that supports the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Gamers around the world participate by playing video games, board games and table-top games. Extra Life has raised more than 22 million dollars since 2008. You can visit the Extra Life site for more information.

Great! How can I help?

We’ve set up our own team and would love if you could support us at keengeek.ca. You can get information about who’s participating, links to donate and any updates leading up to the event. You can follow us on social media and we’ll be updating our culture page with the hashtag #KEENExtraLife.

I’ll end off with a shout out to another local extra life team, you can also catch the YEG Extra Life team at WEM this year. It’s composed of many individuals who will also be participating in the event and is one of the top teams to participate in the Extra Life.
