KEEN partnered with Nutters at a pivotal time when their brand needed an update. As an established natural products retailer, Nutters wanted to see an increase in brand awareness and store traffic, identifying a need to update the brand and implement strategic marketing efforts.

BRINGING BRAND AWARENESS TO A LARGE NATURAL RETAILER

Nutters began with a vision of merchandising bulk and specialty foods in a clean, friendly and customer service-oriented retail setting. They have been in the industry for over 35 years and were previously named Nutters Bulk and Natural Foods. When Nutters came to KEEN, they were in a position of needing a branding shift, a way to create brand consistency across all locations and increased brand awareness.

To better qualify Nutters expanded products and accessibility, we recommended  to change their name from Nutters Bulk and Natural Foods to Nutters Everyday Naturals. Through research, the KEEN team found that this name resonated more with the target audience and was a better fit with the natural, organic and fresh direction of the rebrand.

KEEN provided an overall marketing strategy and tools to help position Nutters as an expert in healthy living and natural and bulk foods.

A FRESH AND VIBRANT REBRAND

We developed a new logo and a visual identity for Nutters that was fresh, welcoming and bright. The goal was to have a wholesome representation of the natural products and lifestyle Nutters stands behind. With the new name of Nutters Everyday Naturals came a new logo that featured warm colours and an inviting font. The ray of leaves developed for the logo was applied to the rest of their collateral as supporting elements to tie it all together. The new visual identity was applied to new branded materials such as exterior and interior signage, flyers, e-newsletters, uniforms and their website.

A FRIENDLY AND INVITING WEBSITE REFRESH

KEEN created a new website for Nutters that provided them with a space to share blog posts, recipes, information on health and wellness, current flyers and all other general store information. The new website featured a clean look that tied in all the organic and natural elements that Nutters had envisioned. We pulled colours from the redesigned Nutters logo and used high quality images to help display the healthy and natural lifestyle that Nutters provides their audience.

 A WELL THOUGHT OUT SOCIAL STRATEGY

For Nutters to increase their brand awareness and position themselves as experts on health and wellness, they needed to talk to their audience. KEEN developed a social media strategy that would help to guide when Nutters should be posting, which platforms to use as well as the dos and don’ts of each platform. Included in the strategy was also a comprehensive overview of their current and aspirational audiences and tips on how to engage with each.

UNIFORMS THAT SPEAK TO THE BRAND AND STORE ATMOSPHERE

KEEN worked with Nutters to create new store uniforms that were friendly, inviting and displayed their brand colours. We created designs for shirts, aprons, vests and other garments. The goal of the new uniforms was to keep their customer-service oriented feel but with a refreshed look that matched the new look of their brand.

A COLLABORATIVE ROLLOUT STRATEGY

KEEN’s partnership with Nutters included many deliverables and we wanted to ensure they were comfortable and supported every step of the way. A rebrand is a large project that needs time and dedication. KEEN made sure to follow up with Nutters regularly and assist with any questions or concerns they had in addition to drafting a detailed rollout plan with timelines, deliverables, responsibilities and recommendations.
