Anuska Sarkar

The Basics:

What is your name/nicknames?
My name is Anuska, pronounced Anu-sh-kaa. When I was born my parents couldn’t decide between Anuska and Nikita so they decided to name me Anuska and use Nikita as a nickname. Over the years, I have collected many other nickname…Shka and Nicki to name a few.

How would you describe your position?
My job is to make sure my clients are getting everything they need from KEEN to turn their marketing dreams into reality, while also helping our fantastic creative team stay organized so they can work their magic without any hiccups.

What are your academic credentials?
I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Spanish. I then moved to Boston to acquire a Master’s degree in Advertising from Boston University’s College of Communication.

What do you do in your spare time?
In my free time I read, watch an embarrassing amount of television, and jam out at electronic music shows. I also moonlight as a freelance music journalist.

Who or what inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by people who follow their passions. I think it takes a lot of courage to pursue something you’re passionate about, and watching people do that inspires me to do the same.

The Random:

What is the best thing to eat for breakfast?
Eggs, eggs, and more eggs. Although I love eggs in any shape or form, my go to breakfast is the classic one egg over-easy on a piece of toast.

What is your favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving and Christmas! I love food, and both holidays give me the opportunity to shamelessly stuff my face with turkey dinner and pie.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Poutine. Fries, cheese, and gravy, what’s not to like? I think subconsciously my love of poutine played a big part in my decision to live in Canada.

What is the best TV show ever created?
Friends. My life is a never-ending Friends marathon.

If you could have one superhero power, what would it be?
Teleportation. There’s so much to see in the world and dealing with travel time and flights just makes traveling harder than it should be. Could you imagine how many places I could cross of my bucket list if I didn’t have to worry about flights and travel time? Breakfast in Paris followed by afternoon cliff-jumping in Bali? No problem!
