Christy Campos
Graphic Designer
The Basics:

What is your name/nicknames?
My name is Christy. Nicknames include Crispy Campos and Chreeesty.

How would you describe your position?
I get to use my love for detail, problem-solving, and over-analyzing everything in combination with my love for art, drawing and designing to help people reach their goals and dreams! Pretty awesome career I’d say. All this while also making $$$ – makes a girl feel blessed.

What are your academic credentials?
I’m currently in the process of wrapping up my degree in Visual Communication Design at the University of Alberta! I also have a former life where I took Architectural Technology at NAIT and also worked in Geomatics for 4 years. It’s been an adventure ;p

What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time you can find me in NATURE! Summertime includes hiking almost every weekend and exploring the river valley.  In the winter you’ll find me either snowboarding in the mountains or cross country skiing. If I’m not outside, I’m probably watching The Office for the hundredth time.

Who or what inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by amazingly talented and influential women in design. This includes Paula Scher, Jessica Walsh, Marian Bantjes, Jessica Hische and Kelli Anderson. Risk takers and shakers that take to doing their own thing  <3

The Random:

What are your top 3 favorite movies?
My top three favourite movies are the Harry Potter Series, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I’m a total nerd and have read all the books more than once), and Jurassic Park. Another random I’ll throw in there is Twister – I have a weird obsession with Tornados and find them terrifying but awesome at the same time.

What is your favorite holiday?
My favourite holiday was when I went to Vancouver Island with a group of friends to trek the West Coast Trail a few years ago. That was a crazy adventure in mental and physical toughness and I also got to see the most amazing giant trees and wildlife (whales, seals and bald eagles). The misty fog, huge rainforests and sounds of a fog horn in the distance are my absolute fave.

Do you take the mini shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotels?
Only if they are of pine and nature scents (like most of the ones in Jasper hotels) or if they have pretty labelling and designs (like the ones at the Cosmo in Vegas).

If you were an animal, what would you be?
I would probably be a Pika so I could hang out on mountaintops all day long and actually thrive on the raw food veggie diet that I can’t seem to achieve as a human!

Where would you time travel and what would you do there?
I feel like the 70s was my jam. I would go back and be a designer in that era. The retro colours and insane type was amazing – not to mention I could have checked out The Beatles and CCR at their prime.
