What is your name/nicknames?
Karebear growing up and my Mama still calls me that. KG or KGB among friends 🙂
How would you describe your position?
I get to build relationships with clients and ensure they know their needs will be taken care of by the awesome KEEN team. Backed by a killer creative bunch, I also get the privilege of sharing the final product with clients and getting their feedback.
What are your academic credentials?
Graduated from Medicine Hat College with a Marketing Diploma and consider myself to be an ongoing learner in the university of life, travel, experience and personal growth.
What do you do in your spare time?
I live for concerts and music in general. I also love doing escape rooms, playing board games, trying new restaurants and breweries (especially trying new craft beers!) and making new friends wherever I go. Living healthy is important to me so the gym and food prep are a part of my weekly routines and I love to try all things active, including skateboarding, which I’m pretty bad at but I LOVE it. I also love my family, especially my nieces and nephew. Building forts and playing with them has to be one of my all-time favourite ways to appreciate life and pass the time. Lastly, I am always trying to tick off my “Bucket List” and am a very curious person, so I love travelling and exploring new places, learning languages and cultures, finding new places to scuba dive, trying new foods etc.
Who or what inspires you and why?
Music, LOVE, adventure, philanthropy & people. People overcoming their hardships and owning their stories just gets right to my heart. Those videos of humans doing extreme things, pursuing adventure and finding the zest of life also light me up and make me want to get out of my comfort zone. Also, Brene Brown and her teachings.
What is your favorite holiday?
Either Halloween or St Patrick’s Day but I like them all because the holidays usually mean good food and good people. Halloween because I LOVE dressing up and will take any excuse to do so and I usually craft my costumes so they are original and have a lot of fun with that. St Patrick’s Day because everything is green, people are cheery and there is Irish music and jigging! The small amount of Irish in me makes me oddly patriotic to the sound of bagpipes and the Irish flute.
What was your first car?
A 94 Thunderbird which sounds a lot sexier than it was. It had electrical tape holding the gear shift together so on a hot summer day my hand would be black and sticky and this became known as the mark of “Tina the T-Bird”.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
A pelican. They live by the sea, have next to no predators, and people love to feed them. Seriously have you been to a seaside seafood restaurant that doesn’t have the daily afternoon pelican feedings? Also, their necks are hilarious and therefore highly entertaining to watch.
What was your first concert?
Billy Idol when I was 12. He was an icon in my household growing up. I may or may not have had a mini shrine of him in my childhood bedroom…
Would you get a tattoo? If you already have a tattoo, what is it?
My tattoo sort of represents my “brand” you could say. It says “Make it Golden” and to me, it means that everywhere I go, everyone I meet, I try to leave a little love and a little light and leave it in a better “golden” state. It was named after a surf competition I was at when I was living in Australia and has a picture of an ocean sunset, one of my favorite scenes 🙂
