What is your name/nicknames?
My best friend calls me “The Goueff” or “Goueff Monster”. I’ve also had the nickname “Mama”… which is a story and a half. It involved a lot of leopard print. (No animals were harmed in the making of that nickname.)
How would you describe your position?
I’m behind the marketing tactics to promote KEEN Creative! I work on the overall communications strategy and messaging for KEEN Creative, while working with our super talented team to get everything done. I also develop marketing strategies for our clients who are looking to accomplish some pretty awesome goals!
What are your academic credentials?
I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta with a major in Marketing and a minor in International Business with a focus on Spanish language and culture.
What do you do in your spare time?
Anything where I can run, climb, swim, pedal, bend, jump, lift, or dance. I usually leave work and head straight for the gym where I bench press thousands of pounds… okay, maybe tens of pounds. I also moonlight as a spin instructor a few times a week!
Who or what inspires you and why?
Tina Fey. She handles life like a boss.
What was your first car?
I shared a 1995 bright turquoise Ford Windstar with my brother for a year or so. It was the old family vehicle and served the purpose for teaching us to drive. However, it didn’t really serve the purpose of making us look cool.
What phobias do you have?
I have a strange fear of hot air balloons and blimps – anything that flies and is inflatable. I’m just super sketched out by the fact that it’s just a floating balloon and you’re miles above the ground. If someone offered me a ride in a hot air balloon I would maybe go… maybe… but they still weird me out. Don’t get me started on blimps.
What would you do if you won a million dollars?
I would buy a beach house in the Caribbean and a party boat – like the kind they have in music videos, but I would have way cooler people in my boat.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a pop star (think Britney Spears circa 1999 or Spice Girls). I definitely thought that was gonna happen. Turns out I thought marketing was pretty sweet and decided to do that instead. That being said, I NEVER turn down a karaoke session.
If you could have any pet in the world, illegal or not, what would you get?
I’ve always joked about having a pet flamingo. I would just let it walk around the house. I don’t even know if they are exciting or what they even do. They’re just kinda silly to look at! Maybe I’m crazy but they look like they would have a sarcastic personality. So yeah, I want a sarcastic flamingo. The sky is the limit, right?
