What is your name/nicknames?
Tess, which is not short for anything. Occasionally people call me Tesser, Tesska or Tessy.
How would you describe your position?
I get to make things, all sorts of things, and since I am a fresh little newborn designer I also get to learn lots.
What are your academic credentials?
Graduated from MacEwan University’s Design program in 2013 with a major in design and photography. Also have a Bachelor of Education from U of A, but that doesn’t come in handy quite as often.
What do you do in your spare time?
Drink tea, eat treats, crochet, read, browse the Internet, ride my bicycle, work in my garden, search for secondhand treasures and make things.
Who or what inspires you and why?
The treasures I find at thrift stores, interesting colours, beautiful typography and the many talented people I know and encounter.
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas! No other holiday could make a whole month of winter so happy.
What five things are always in your fridge?
Cheese, Chai mix, fruits, veggies and leftovers.
What phobias do you have?
Birds, and also most other animals.
What would you do if you won a million dollars?
Buy a new house that has a large and wonderful bathtub.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I changed my mind a lot but usually I wanted to be a teacher, a librarian, a children’s book illustrator, a photographer and a mom.
